Taylor Frankie Paul Didn't Remember Throwing Barstools in 2023 Incident
A mental health assessment shows the reality TV star didn't "recall much" of the 2023 incident where she threw metal barstools.
Reality TV star Taylor Frankie Paul didn’t remember throwing barstools during a 2023 domestic violence incident and only learned she did so after reading the incident report, according to a mental health assessment of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives lead.
Nothing Left 2 Hide obtained the substance use and mental health assessment, which is included in Utah court records, that Taylor underwent shortly after being arrested for domestic abuse in February 2023.
The assessment, which took place on March 8, 2023, includes Taylor’s side of the February incident that eventually saw her pleading guilty to felony assault. It also shows the counselor’s recommendations for Taylor after concluding she was mildly depressed and an “immediate problem drinker.”
Among the details:
The 2023 domestic violence incident happened after a “girl’s night.”
Taylor had been drinking vodka for the first time in three months.
Taylor told a counselor she did “not recall much” from the incident and didn’t remember throwing the barstools.
The counselor labeled Taylor an “immediate problem drinker.”
I Don’t Remember That
Here is what Taylor told her counselor about the 2023 Incident:
In February 2023, Ms. Paul and some friends had a “girl’s night” at a friend’s home. Ms. Paul stated that she had, had no alcoholic beverages for about three months prior to that night. While there, she drank some vodka, however, she does not recall exactly how much.
While still at her friend’s home, she started thinking about how she “ruined” her family due to her divorce and feeling like she broke her family up. This upset her a lot and she asked her current boyfriend to come to pick her up. While in the car, Ms. Paul states that she became more upset and recalls crying a lot.
Ms. Paul stated that she was also upset when starting to reflect on a recent ectopic pregnancy (which reportedly happened a few days before this incident took place). Ms.
Paul shared that they arrived at their home, and does not recall much after arriving home. Ms. Paul reported that after reading the incident report she was informed that she grabbed three bar stools and threw them in her boyfriend’s direction.
Both of her children were sleeping, her son was upstairs in his room and her daughter was asleep on the couch downstairs (where the incident occurred). Ms. Paul reported that her daughter woke up after or during the altercation (and she reported that she checked to make sure her daughter was okay). Ms. Paul did not find any signs of her daughter being hit with anything (no marks or redness). Ms. Paul states that there is a video of this incident, however, it is unclear if the barstool hit or grazed her daughter.
Ms. Paul reports that the children are staying with their father now. The state of Utah issued a protective order that she can not see or talk to them as of yet. Ms. Paul reported that she is greatly upset by the protective order and seemed very regretful about this incident.
Counselor Recommendations
Taylor scored 18 points on the Burn’s Depression Checklist, indicating “a mild level of depression.”
She also scored six points on the Michigan Alcohol Screening Test (MAST-24), indicating “an immediate problem drinker.”
Additionally, the reality star scored eight points on the Burn’s Anxiety Inventory, indicating “borderline anxiety.”
She did not report any suicidal thoughts or threats of self-harm.
Here are the counselor’s recommendations:
(COUNSELING CENTER) recommends Ms. Paul attends a Parenting Class to learn to manage stress and anxiety around her children. In addition, Ms, Paul would greatly benefit from attending a Prime for Life Class to get some information/education about alcohol and its side effects and consequences, at this time, since Ms. Paul shared that she already sees an EMDR Therapist regularly, (COUNSELING CENTER) does not feel Ms. Paul would be in need of any additional recommendations. We offer all classes and workshops in both English and Spanish and in person.
Earlier this week, Nothing Left 2 Hide published the arrest report from the 2023 incident.
